D�sseldorf is located in the west of Germany and situated on the river Rhine. It is the capital city of the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia and is widely known as a centre of advertising, fashion industries and telecommunications.

Travel to D�sseldorf

D�sseldorf is quite convenient to reach as it has an international airport with direct connections to numerous cities (e.g. UK: London Heathrow, City, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle and Southampton; France: Paris CDG, Nice, Toulouse, Marseille, Lyon; Other: Zurich, Basel, Geneva, Vienna, Salzburg, Graz, Copenhagen, Billund, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Helsinki, Rome, Milano, Turin, Venice, and many more ...). The city centre and the university can be easily and quickly reached from the airport for 2.30 EUR.

Alternatively the K�ln-Bonn airport provides more destinations; many with budget airlines.

Many cities in Germany can be reached directly with the fast ICE train (e.g., Frankfurt Airport in 2h30). Paris (3h14) and Brussels (1h47) can also be reached using the Thalys train service from Cologne.
